Project Salama is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all individuals who come into contact with our organisation, particularly children and vulnerable adults.
All staff and volunteers who work with clients are subject to enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks and receive regular safeguarding training.

9. Donations
We are grateful for all donations made to Project Salama. All donations are used to fund our charitable work in line with our objectives as registered with the Charity Commission of England and Wales.

Donations are used to deliver and develop our services, support those we serve, fund programmes, and cover our operational costs. We are committed to using funds efficiently and in the best interests of those we serve.
Gift Aid
If you are a UK taxpayer and make a Gift Aid declaration, we are entitled to reclaim 25p of tax for every £1 you donate. It is your responsibility to ensure you pay sufficient tax to cover the amount reclaimed. Providing a false Gift Aid declaration is a criminal offence.
Refunds
As a charity, we are generally unable to offer refunds on donations once processed. If you believe a donation was made in error, please contact us within 14 days at info@projectsalama.co.uk and we will consider each request on a case-by-case basis in accordance with our trustees’ discretion.
Third-party donation platforms
Where you donate through a third-party platform such as JustGiving, their terms of service and privacy policy will apply in addition to ours. Project Salama is not responsible for the terms or data practices of third-party platforms.
10. Volunteering
Volunteering with Project Salama is subject to a separate Volunteer Agreement which you will be asked to sign before beginning any voluntary work with us.
All volunteer roles involving direct contact with clients require an enhanced DBS check and completion of our safeguarding induction. Volunteering is unpaid and does not create an employment relationship.
We reserve the right to decline volunteer applications or to end a voluntary arrangement if we believe it is in the best interests of those we support.
